New GeForce GTX 460 Can Stream WHDI Via Amimon
GeForce has been a name to be reckoned with in the gaming industry since the nineties. (My first non-standard PC mod was the addition of my own Nvidia GeForce card so I could play Star Wars Rogue Squadron in high school.) Now they’re getting into the HD TV game—sort of.

The new GeForce GTX 460 comes with the ability to stream HD content from a PC to your TV effortlessly via Amimon hardware they’ve tacked onto the device. You don’t have to worry about tracking down an adapter either–the package deal comes with a receiver adapter that just plugs right in.

Talk about Blu-Ray all you want (you won’t need a specific Blu-Ray player for your TV anymore if you have a Blu-Ray drive) but you are guaranteed to see some jaws drop when you put 1080p digital glory (aka Shooters and Racing games) on your TV in 60fps.

Of course, with every great leap in graphics card technology comes the accompanying giant leap in the price tags on those new cards and chipsets. This GeForce card definitely won’t be bargain basement material and you will have to pay a premium price for it when it hit shelves this October. Still, if you’re a hardcore PC gamer and want to show your Console Gamer buddies what it’s really all about then it might just be worth it.
